Bio:

Jeff Macoun is President and Chief Operating Officer, Canada, for Canada Life. Since 2018, he’s been leading over 11,000 employees across the country, supporting one purpose – to improve the financial, physical and mental well-being of Canadians.


In 2019, Jeff successfully led the company through a historic milestone, announcing that Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life would come together as one brand and one company – the new Canada Life. Recognized in 2020 as the fastest growing brand in the country, in 2021 

Canada Life also became the first insurance company to rate among the top five most valuable brands in Canada (Brand Finance).


Originally from Newmarket, Ontario, Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Laurentian University. He has also completed an Executive Strategies program at the University of Michigan and holds a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. Before settling down in 

London, Ontario, Jeff worked in Toronto, Winnipeg and Edmonton – and made a significant impact in each 

community during that time. In London, his commitment has been no different. 


Jeff has been involved with numerous charitable organizations, including the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, 

the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, United Way Elgin Middlesex and more. In 2021, he joined the Canadian 

Chamber of Commerce’s COVID-19 Recovery Leadership Council to help promote a business-led economic 

recovery from the pandemic. 


Jeff has received several distinguished recognitions for his philanthropic commitments, including a Queen 

Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and a Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award. He was inducted into 

the London and District Business Hall of Fame in 2019 for his business acumen and community leadership. In 

2021, he received the Communications Champion Award from the International Association of Business 

Communicators (London chapter) as a leader who recognizes the value of communications as integral in 

driving business results
