Bio:

As the founding CEO of RISE, a breakthrough wellness company, Suneel Gupta has helped thousands of people build better habits for life and work. Now as a bestselling author and Harvard Medical School visiting scholar, Gupta has taken his mission one step further — helping organizations reach sustainable peak performance by bolstering their people’s emotional resilience and engagement. He shares science-based habits to help leaders and their teams adapt to an ever-changing world of work, avoid burnout, and boost energy, innovation, and productivity.

Gupta is a business survivor — he went from being the face of failure in the New York Times to the New York Stock Exchange’s “New Face of Innovation”. His internationally bestselling book, Backable, is rooted in his journey from a twice-failed entrepreneur to the leader behind two IPOs. It also explores mindset shifts and hidden habits of people who are extraordinary at pushing new ideas forward. Gupta’s latest book, Everyday Dharma, available in 2023, offers readers timeless techniques for finding happiness, while creating great work.

As the CEO of RISE, Gupta helped thousands of people establish a way to personalize their physical and mental health journey while connecting them with certified nutritionists and trainers at an affordable price. The company partnered with then First Lady Michelle Obama and was named "app of the year" by Apple, before being successfully acquired by the NASDAQ-listed company, One Medical Group.

Today, Gupta is a visiting scholar at Harvard Medical School where he researches and teaches the interconnection between inner well-being and outer leadership. He is also the host of Business Class, a docuseries created by American Express that showcases entrepreneurs and business visionaries who embody struggle and resilience. He has hosted such guests as Top Chef's Tom Colicchio, former monk Jay Shetty, and Martha Stewart.

Gupta was one of the very first investors to support the app, CALM, which now helps millions of people achieve a greater sense of work-life balance. He has also personally backed ventures such as Impossible Foods, AirBnB, 23&Me, and SpaceX. In addition, Gupta has partnered with The Second City comedy theatre to teach students and executives how to innovate "on-your-feet'' during times of rapid change. .
